kis'sa

so that's the Finnish word for "cat". i think i spelled it correctly. i'm not sure about that, though. i've been learning a little Finnish from a friend by rote oral memorization. eventually, i'll get into the grammar of it, but first i need to get the hang of the pronounciation, and catch the pattern of speech. i'm hoping that once i have about 50 words in my vocabulary, i'll be able to pick up on the grammar with out too much difficulty. i figure by then, the pattern of speech will be fairly appearant. Spanish only took me about 20 or 30 words. German took me learning to read it to realize that i knew the pattern, and a lot of the grammar. any way, since no one really reads this any way, i don't really mind sounding a bit over bearing. that, and the fact that any one who knows me knows of the ease with which i learn languages, and that it's one of the few things in which i am truly confident. other wise, i put on a good show of confidence. i think that's it for now.

da? nyet?

i'm just chilling up at my Aunt's house today for Thanksgiving. other than that, i work two part time jobs, and generally waste Tuesdays altogether. Saturdays are usually insanely busy, and it's all i can do some times to hold myself together till the end of the day. i still don't have a phone, and my parents aren't thrilled about that, but they'll live. i don't think i have any thing else to report right now. later.

a ver, damelo?

i am now officially a member of the spanish ward. i had the clerk request the records last week, and i'll go tomorrow and not just be visiting. i really wanted to be in a family ward again, and i don't think i would have been able to handle a student family ward. they have a tendancy to be full of younger girls already on their second or third child. if nothing else, it is inevitable that there will be some 19 or 20 year old girl who is overbearing in her marital bliss, and pities any one that isn't as happily married as she is. i don't need that. i don't even want that. any way, i'm excited to be a member of this new ward. the student ward i live in is disorganized. and it's a single's ward. need i say more? maybe they'll put me in the primary, or in with the youth. i kind of hope so. i miss children. and, since it will be so long till i have any of my own, i'll have to make do with helping others with theirs.
for all you former English majors (you know who you are), i apologize. typing has never been my forte, and my grammar- while being on average a little better than the american average- is still horrendous.
aside from that, i just picked up an extremely part-time job on the side. i work about 8 hours a day in the mornings as a CNA at East Lake Care Center once a week on Saturdays only.
that's about all there is to report. Happy Halloween!

just in case you were wondering

i currently work at Provo Art and Frame. i enjoy my job; but it pays peanuts. at least i'm keeping busy. i'm living in student housing in Provo.... and looking for an opportunity to take a permanent vacation from this place.
